Pre Conference Training

This training was designed to strengthen participants’ skills in PostgreSQL server-side development through hands-on exercises and real-world application scenarios. It provided an immersive learning experience, guiding attendees through practical challenges to build confidence in writing efficient and maintainable database logic. Whether participants were new to PostgreSQL or looking to deepen their expertise, the training offered valuable insights and techniques applicable to real-world projects.

Egor Rogov

Egor Rogov is the author of the PostgreSQL Internals book (in english) and brings over 20 years of experience in database management systems as both an application developer and project manager. Since 2015, he has been actively contributing to educational programs at Postgres Professional, where he shares his expertise through training, workshops, and other initiatives.

Ilia Bashtanov

Ilia Bashtanov

Ilia Bashtanov creates educational courses and programs at Postgres Professional and specializes in developing database applications. With expertise in full-stack web, desktop, and mobile development, he delivers high-quality, functional solutions that meet client needs.

Pavel Tolmachev

Pavel Tolmachev

Pavel Tolmachev is an experienced programmer with expertise in PostgreSQL, C#, WinForms, WPF, ASP.NET, and Oracle PL/SQL. Currently, he contributes to educational initiatives at Postgres Professional, where he writes articles, develops workshops, designs training courses, and delivers presentations. Since his student days, Pavel has been deeply passionate about database management systems (DBMS), with a particular interest in exploring the intricacies of query optimizers.

⚠️ Prerequisites

  1. SQL fundamentals

  2. experience with any procedural programming language

  3. basic knowledge of Unix OS

  2. working with the main database objects: tables, indexes, views

  3. programming in SQL and PL/pgSQL on the server side
